The Topical Times was a weekly newspaper published from 1919 to 1940. The paper throughout its tenure would feature a fair chunk of its coverage to sport, the majority of which was devoted to football. To help aid its circulation it started to issue booklets and photographs for collection. Albums were also issued to collect the photographs within. The series featuring Wolves players are detailed below with only one player in each series.
1932-33 - Footballers
​
This was a series of portrait photographs of 24 English players measuring 245 x 90 in size. There was also a series for Scottish football featuring 12 players.
1935 - Footballers
​
As the previous series these portrait photographs featured 28 footballers measuring 245 x 90 in size. Again there was a Scottish edition featuring 14 players.
1936-37 - Miniature Panel Portraits
​
This was a series of smaller portrait photographs featuring 24 cards measuring 125 x 45 in size. Once more a Scottish version was issued, this time with an expanded series of 24 cards.
1937 - Triple Portraits
​
The next series saw three portraits on each card. Only 8 cards to the series but featuring 24 players measuring 245 x 75 each player. The Scottish series matched that of the English. Wolves representative Bill Morris was partnered with Mills of Chelsea and Finnan of Blackpool
1938 - Miniature Panel Portraits - Stars of Today
​
A return to the smaller portrait photographs again featuring 24 cards measuring 125 x 45 in size. Again a 24 page series for the Scottish.
1938 - Footballers
​
This series reduced in size to 14 players. Again the photographs were the larger size - 245 x 90 and was matched for the Scottish edition.
1939 - Great Players - Close-ups of the Stars
​
The penultimate series switched to a head and shoulders photograph for images that were 75 x 60 in size issued over a 6 week period. Again the Scottish version matched that of the English.
1939 - Footballers
​
The final series returned to the large panel portrait of previous. 245 x 90 in size and featuring 16 players. There were 16 players in the Scottish version and this time an Irish version with 20 players.
